The double sole is also made of double chromed cowhide. The interior dimensions of the loafers are 11 1/16 long and measure 3 13/16 to the ball of the foot which will adapt to a male size 9 d (average) or 10 1/2 wide (d). This sizing allows for a medium-weight sock. All moccasin purchases include an 8 oz box of our special leather blend conditioner and care instructions.
The loafers are made from the finest leather available. The skins used in our world-renowned leather loafers are double patent leather bronzed bath up to 1/4 thick.
This process increases the tense force of the leather without sacrificing any of its suppleness. The end result is a thick, water-resistant and flexible leather that is comfortable to wear, but extremely durable. The skins used in our buffalo loafers are acquired and tanned in the United States. The buffalo and sheep are ranch-bred; deer and elk are caught during regulated annual hunting seasons.
Buffalo is a durable but very flexible leather. It conforms well to the feet and is soft and supple. All loafers are double-floored with our world-renowned leather for greater stability, durability and water resistance. Stitching: we sew each pair of our loafers by hand using an extremely strong 13-string polyester wire that is not affected by temperature or water.
Each point is placed by hand using an eraingue and two needles, and \"locked\" as it goes in place. In the unlikely event that the wire was to be cut or broken, the seam will not unravel. We guarantee sewing on our loafers for life. Moccasin care: moccasins must be cleaned and packaged periodically to allow the leather to breathe. We recommend the use of our special blend conditioner, which is consistent with our custom tanning process.
The use of oil will darken the color of the moccasins (the most noticeable on the buffalo). The oil should only be used on finished leather; It should not be used on split leather parts of loafers. An 8 oz can of oil and complete instructions for breaking in and caring for our loafers accompany each pair.Fit: When you receive your loafers, try them with the weight sock you intend to wear them with. Lace them up and leave them on your feet for a little while.
We generally recommend that your longest toe be 1/4 behind the toe points on the moccasins, but they are your feet and your moccasins and they should be comfortable with you. The loafers may feel a little stiff at first, that's okay (remember we said \"a little\"), but they shouldn't be painfully tight. If they hurt, they are not the right size. Resoles: all our moccasins can be re-insulated indefinitely as long as the leather is kept in good condition.
